Bosnia & Herzegovina September 2018: Octavia up to 11.8% share

Thanks to our partnership with , Bosnian sales data is now available on BSCB. The market gears up 19.9% year-on-year in September to 820 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up 8.5% to 8.424. The Skoda Octavia (+116%) spectacularly reclaims the top spot it holds YTD at a fantastic 11.8% share vs. 6.1% so far this year, relegating the Skoda Fabia (+16%), leader in August, to #2. The Opel Astra (+200%) and VW Polo (+675%) also post stunning gains to round up the Tp 4 while the Toyota Yaris (+41%) is also in great shape and the Renault Megane and Opel Vivaro make a rare appearance in the Bosnian Top 10.

According to our Central European market data partner , new car sales in Bosnia & Herzegovina plunge 18% year-on-year in August to just 687 registrations, yet the year-to-date tally remains comfortably in positive at +7.4% to 7.604 units. The Skoda Fabia surges 54% year-on-year to snap the lead for the third time in the past 6 months, scoring the #2 spot off the VW Golf in the process. The Skoda Octavia (+30%) is also very dynamic at #2 and remains the YTD leader by just 12 sales above the Fabia. The Skoda Rapid (+19%) is the only other Top 7 nameplate in positive, confirming an outstanding month for the Czech carmaker.

Thanks to our partnership with Central European market data partner , we can share with you July sales for Bosnia & Herzegovina, a market up 13.9% to 985 registrations, lifting the year-to-date volume up 10.8% to 6.917. This month the VW Golf (+68%) is by far the most popular nameplate in the country for the first time since last January with 6.5% share, edging up to #2 year-to-date (+76%) as a result. The Skoda Octavia (+64%) ranks 2nd in July but remains in the YTD lead (+20^) while the Skoda Fabia (+67%) remains in third place both in July and YTD (+94%). Strong showings by the Dacia Duster at #4, the Dacia Logan at #7 and the VW Polo at #9.

Thanks to our partnership with Central European market data partner , we can share with you June sales for Bosnia & Herzegovina, a market up 1% year-on-year to 1.095 registrations, leading to a YTD tally up 10.3% to 5.932 units. This month the Skoda Octavia kills two birds with one stone, returning to the monthly top spot for the first time since last February but also scoring the YTD pole position off its smaller sibling the Skoda Fabia. The VW Golf is up three spots on May to #2 but stays #3 YTD. Excellent performances of the Hyundai Tucson up 7 ranks to #4, the VW Polo up 4 to #5 and the Dacia Duster up 4 to #6. The Toyota Corolla and Yaris make a rare appearance inside the Bosnian Top 10.

Thanks to our partnership with Central European market data partner , we can share with you May sales for Bosnia & Herzegovina, a market up 17.4% year-on-year to 1.186 units, which brings the year-to-date volume up 12.7% to 4.837. After recording a high of #6 in April 2017 and two incursions in the Top 10 so far this year (#9 in February and April), the Dacia Sandero triumphs in May and posts its first ever monthly win in Bosnia thanks to 75 sales and 6.3% share. The Skoda Fabia is knocked down to #2 but surges 118% year-on-year to step ahead of the Skoda Octavia in the YTD ranking. The VW Crafter is up 6 spots to #4, its highest ranking in the country since BSCB started following Bosnia monthly in 2013. The  Dacia Duster (+80%) and VW Golf (+46%) also impress while the Citroen C3 (#6) posts its first Top 10 ranking since March 2013.

Thanks to our partnership with Central European market data partner , we can now share with you April data for Bosnia & Herzegovina, with sales up 16.7% year-on-year to 1.060 leading to a year-to-date volume up 11.2% to 3.651 units. The Skoda Fabia manages a second consecutive month in pole position at 6.7% share, earning the #1 YTD spot (+117%) it shares with the VW Golf (+113%) at 5.8% of the market. The VW Passat holds onto #3, distancing the VW Golf (+25%), Skoda Rapid (+77%) and Dacia Duster (+48%). Leader over the FY2017, the Renault Clio (-59%) is outside the April Top 10.

According to our Central European market data partner , 963 new light vehicles were sold in Bosnia & Herzegovina in March, lifting the Q1 volume up 9.1% year-on-year to 2.591 units. This month the Skoda Fabia replaces the Octavia atop the models charts with a stunning 10.4% share propelling it to #3 YTD. The Skoda Octavia is down one spot to #2, a ranking it also holds YTD, while the VW Passat remains on the third step of the podium like in February but ranks 4th so far this year. Even though it trails the Opel Astra and Skoda Rapid in March to rank #6, the VW Golf remains the best-selling nameplate in the country so far in 2018 at 6.7% share. The Peugeot 301 makes a rare appearance among the Bosnian Top 10 at #7. #1 in 2017 and #2 in February, the Renault Clio drops outside the March Top 10 and now only ranks #9 YTD.

According to our Central European market data partner , 776 new light vehicles were sold in February in Bosnia & Herzegovina, lifting the year-to-date volume to 1.628 units. The Skoda Octavia takes the lead of the Bosnian models ranking this month with 5.9% share, while the Renault Clio is up 6 spots on January to #2 (vs. #1 over the Full Year 2017) and is now up to #3 year-to-date. Volkswagen places the Passat at #3, the Golf at #4 (but still #1 YTD) and the Caddy at #6.

Thanks to our Central European market data partner , January data for Bosnia & Herzegovina is now available, with sales soaring 48.4% year-on-year to 852 units. The VW Golf shoots up 5-fold on its January 2017 score to take the lead pf the models ranking with a mammoth 13.5% share, with the Skoda Octavia (5.5%) and Dacia Duster (4.2%) distant followers. The VW Up makes its first appearance in the Bosnian Top 10 since we started following this market back in late 2013 at a splendid 4th place. Leader in 2017, the Renault Clio is down 41% to a weak #8 this month.

Thanks to our Central European market data partner , we can share with you today annual 2017 sales data for Bosnia & Herzegovina, a market up a vigorous 11.2% year-on-year to 10.253 registrations. For the first time since BSCB has been following Bosnian sales in 2008, it’s not a Skoda atop the annual models ranking: instead, the Renault Clio triumphs thanks to deliveries up a whopping 29% on 2016 to 5.2% share. It was close: the Skoda Octavia, leader from 2012 to 2016, ends the year just 7 units below the Clio… The VW Golf (-24%) is also knocked down one spot to #3 while the Opel Astra (+3%) remains at #4. Both the Skoda Fabia (+25%) and VW Caddy (+29%) gain two ranks to #5 and #6 respectively, toppling the VW Passat (-7%) and Skoda Rapid (+8%), the VW Polo (#10) makes it seven VAG nameplates in Bosnian Top 10 like in 2016 while the Hyundai Tucson (#9) replaces the Opel Corsa inside the annual Top 10.
