Skoda Fabia in Perast, Montenegro
One of the 10 Eastern European countries we visited in 10 days in a Dacia Logan last year was Montenegro, population 678.000. There hasn’t been any official data for this market since 2014, so I will draw on my observations on the touristic Adriatic coast in the towns of Perast, Kotor and Budva to try an estimate the best-sellers for 2018, keeping in mind these may be biased by the fact that I didn’t get to see the capital Podgorica, which means there is probably a disproportionately high ratio of rental cars in the park I observed.
In this context, the Skoda Fabia should still be the runaway leader in Montenegro for 2018 based on an actual flood of them along the coast, and I estimate it is followed by the Dacia Sandero and VW Golf. Renault is also strong with the Megane and Clio, as well as Citroen with the C-Elysee and Peugeot with the 301. The Fiat 500L produced in closely Serbia seems to be a success with rental car companies in Montenegro.
