The Toyota Tacoma is once again estimated to top the American Samoan sales charts in 2018.
Not to be confused with Samoa covered in separate updates, American Samoa is an unincorporated territory of the United States located in the South Pacific and forming the eastern part of the Samoan Islands chain – see exact location on maps below. It consists of five main islands and two coral atolls with a total population of 54.194. American Samoa is the southernmost territory of the U.S. and one of two U.S. territories (with Jarvis Island) south of the Equator.

The new car market in American Samoa drops 12% year-on-year in 2018 to 360 registrations. Toyota (-2.2%) is back above Ford (-20.9%) in the brands ranking with 36.9% share vs. 34.7% just as Hyundai (+1.6%) cements its position on the podium at 17.8% share. Nissan (-35.4%) implodes but Kia (+75%) shines. Model-wise, as it is also the case in Hawaii the Toyota Tacoma (-5.1%) is estimated to be the best-seller here once again with over 20% share, while the RAV4 (+42.9%) and 4Runner (+12.5%) are the only Toyota models gaining ground this year.
