The Kazakh new vehicle market enjoys a second consecutive year of growth in 2018 at +24.2% to 60.931 units after stepping up 5.1% in 2017. This follows two extremely challenging years at -40% in 2015 and -52% in 2016. Strikingly, the Top 4 carmakers for the year all outpace the market: Lada (+53.6%) surges past Toyota (+32.8%) to reclaim the brands’ top spot for the first time since 2015 with a commanding 22% share vs. 20.2% for the Japanese manufacturer. Hyundai (+140.5%) more than doubles its sales year-on-year to step onto the annual podium, while Kia (+24.4%) is up 3 spots to #4. Nissan (+43.9%) also stands out in the Top 10 but Ravon (-62.5%), UAZ (-21%) and Renault (-17.8%) suffer. Further down, Skoda (+152.3%), Porsche (+100%), Isuzu (+95.4%), Mazda (+93.9%), Land Rover (+80.3%), JAC (+79.7%), Mitsubishi (+78.4%), Subaru (+49.9%) and Infiniti (+43%) are among the best performers.

Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Camry (+42.7%) takes advantage of the new generation to threepeat in pole position at 7.8% share, with the valiant 40 year-old Lada 4×4 (+13.5%) managing to hold onto the #2 spot. The Lada Granta (+93.5%) and Vesta (+210.4%) both post fantastic gain to make it 3 Ladas in the Top 4, while the Hyundai Tucson (+218.6%), Accent (+195.9%), Elantra (+126.2%), Creta (+74.7%), Toyota Corolla (+45.3%) and Prado (+56.7%) also sign spectacular gains in the remainder of the Top 15. The Toyota C-HR (#67) is the best-selling 2018 launch followed by the Lifan X70 (#74), Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (#83) and Skoda Kodiaq (#84).
