New car sales in Luxembourg dip 8% year-on-year in October to 4.298 registrations, meaning the year-to-date volume is now up just 2.5% to 46.667 units. Mercedes manages to brilliantly stay atop the brands ranking with a stunning 15.6% share vs. 9% so far this year, with BMW in 2nd place again at 13.3% vs. 9.3% YTD. Volkswagen is up one spot on September to #3 with 8.1% of the market, still well below the level it commands YTD (12.3%). Peugeot (5.8%) is down one rank to #4, Ford (5.6%) up two to #5 and Volvo (4.9%) down one to #6 vs. #11 YTD. Notice also strong showings by Hyundai at #7 (#10 YTD), Mini at #13 (#17), Jaguar at #14 (#23) and DS at #22 (#28). Model-wise, the new generation sends the Mercedes A-Class soaring 239% year-on-year to become by far the best-selling vehicle in the country with 5.8% share, distancing the Mercedes GLC (+32%) for a second consecutive Mercedes 1-2, the VW Polo (+38%), Renault Clio (-38%) and BMW X3 (+1380%). The VW Golf (-76%), still by far the #1 YTD, is relegated to 7th place.
