Only the VW Golf outsells the Renault Captur in Belgium in April.

The Belgian new car market is up 6.8% year-on-year in April to 54.602 registrations, lifting the year-to-date tally up 2% to 220.159 units. Volkswagen (+8%) beats the market to remains the most popular carmaker in the country at 10.6% share, one full percentage point above its YTD level. It distances Renault (+2%), Peugeot (+7%) and BMW (-21%) in a Top 4 unchanged on both March and YTD. Mercedes (-5%) overtakes Opel (+15%) to rank 5th with Nissan (+50%) and Ford (+24%) posting the largest gains in the Top 10 just as Audi (-15%) and Citroen (-13%) struggle. Further down, Seat (+132%), Jaguar (+72%), Jeep (+60%), Smart (+52%), Mazda (+41%), Porsche (+35%), Kia (+29%), DS (+28%), Lexus (+28%), Mitsubishi (+26%), Hyundai (+24%) and Land Rover (+20%) all impress.
The Top 10 models for April are now available thanks to our partnership with JATO Dynamics. The VW Golf (+9%) cements its recently reclaimed YTD leadership but the hero of the month is the Renault Captur (+2%) up six spots on March to #2 overall, outselling the Renault Clio (+5%) down one rank to #3. The Nissan Qashqai gains 60% to #4 but remains below the Hyundai Tucson YTD. The VW Tiguan jumps to #7 and earns a YTD Top 10 ranking.
