The Toyota Yaris has now led the Greek market for five consecutive years.

The Greek new car market continues on it long road to recovery with 2017 sales up 11.7% to 88.083 units, the largest annual volume since 2011 but still very far from the all time high of 279,554 sales registered in pre-crisis 2007. Brand leader Toyota trails the market at +6% and sees its share thaw from 12% to 11.4%, but Nissan actually drops 1% and one percentage point of share to 8.2%. Volkswagen (+6%) overtakes Opel (-6%) to land on the third step of the podium, just as Peugeot (+16%) and Fiat (30%) hold onto their respective 5th and 6th places. Suzuki (+30%) is up one spot to #7 while Hyundai is resuscitated: up 271% and 9 ranks to #9. Further down, Skoda surges 116% while Porsche (+109%), Land Rover (+77%), Kia (+54%), Jaguar (+32%), Dacia (+29%), Audi (+18%) and Renault (+17%) also impress.
The Opel Corsa drops 13% but remains in 2nd place.
The Toyota Yaris celebrates five years in a row atop the Greek charts (and 6 in the past 8 years), extending its advantage over #2 Opel Corsa thanks to deliveries up 4% to 6.3% share vs. -13% to 3.8% for the Corsa. The Fiat Panda advances a further 16% to secure the last podium spot, distancing the Peugeot 208 (+22%) and Nissan Micra (-3%) in a Top 5 composed at 100% of superminis like in 2016. The Nissan Qashqai (+8%) is the best-selling crossover in the country at #6, with the Renault Clio (+14%) and Citroen C3 (+77%) also positing double-digit gains inside the Top 10. Below, the Hyundai i20 shoots up 339% to #11, the Fiat Tipo is up 257% to #15, the Hyundai i10 up 173% to #16 and the Ford Kuga up 889% to #24. The Toyota C-HR spends its first full year on the Greek market at #29 and the Audi Q2 at #40.
