The Renault Sandero continues to dominate the Colombian models ranking.

The Colombian new vehicle market is down 6.8% year-on-year in August to 20.925 registrations, pulling the year-to-date tally down 2.9% to 152.651 units. This is the weakest result for the month of August since 2009 (15.062). The Top 11 best-selling brands are in the same order this month as they are year-to-date, with Chevrolet in the lead but down 18%, being caught up by Renault down just 6%. Nissan surges 23% at #3, with Suzuki (+38%) and Hyundai (+190%) the only two other manufacturers in positive in the Top 10. Further down, Audi (+18%), Subaru (+35%), Volvo (+45%), BMW (+72%), Peugeot (+153%) and Citroen (+829%) shine. Model-wise, the Renault Sandero continues to clearly dominate the charts with 9.3% market share, over two percentage points above the Chevrolet Spark at 7.2% with the Chevrolet Sail rounding up the podium at 5.8%. The Renault Logan is back up to #4, above the Kia Picanto, Renault Duster and Mazda3. The JAC S2 leads Chinese nameplates at #45, the only one of them in the Top 50 this month.
