89.588 new cars found a buyer in Indonesia in April, a 5.8% year-on-year improvement. After having its feathers ruffled by the launch of the Calya, a larger but cheaper Low Cost Green Car MPV that ranked #1 in Indonesia between August and October, the Toyota Avanza, the market leader for 11 consecutive years, has now reclaimed a firm grip on the market. In April, it holds a 13.3% share despite a 6% year-on-year drop and sells more than double any other nameplate around, with the #2, the Calya, standing at 6.5% share. The Toyota Kijang Innova is a strong third with deliveries up 16%, distancing the Honda Brio Satya leaping from outside the Top 20 in April 2017 directly into 4th place. With the Brio Satya, Honda manages to outsell both the Toyota Agya and Daihatsu Ayla in the LCGC small car segment. The Daihatsu Gran Max Pikap post a splendid 50% gain, the Honda HR-V is up 35% and the Suzuki Carry Pikap up 25%. Finally, notice the arrival of the Suzuki Ignis inside the Indonesian Top 20 at #14.
