The Hyundai Tucson leaps to 6th place for its first year in market in Cyprus.

Thanks to our partnership with we can share with you detailed annual data for Cyprus where total registrations are up by a splendid 22.5% year-on-year in 2016 to 12.652 units, 14.485 (+22.9%) when including Light Commercial Vehicles. Ford dominates the brands ranking with 15.1% share, even outpacing the market at +27% and distancing Nissan (+19%), Volkswagen (+19%) and Toyota (+22%) all above 10% share. Kia struggles at -6% and drops one spot to #5 while Mercedes (+20%) overtakes BMW (+6%) to land at an impressive 6th place overall. Renault (+45%), Mazda (+45%), Land Rover (+80%), Suzuki (+84%), Hyundai (+130%), Honda (+153%) all take off inside the Top 20 where prestige brand Porsche manages to rank (#20).
Model-wise, the VW Golf manages a second straight annual win despite gaining just 6%, resulting in a market share down one percentage point at 6.1%. The Nissan Qashqai (+0.3%) and Ford Fiesta (+30%) make the podium unchanged on 2015, distancing the Toyota Yaris (+18%) and Ford Focus up a gigantic 141% to #5The Hyundai Tucson surges out of nowhere (4 sales in 2015) directly to 6th place with 3% share for its first full year in market, with other great performers including the Suzuki Vitara (+198%), Honda HR-V (+1344%), Land Rover Discovery Sport (+298%), BMW X1 (+662%) and Renault Kadjar (+4433%).
