New car sales in the Philippines seem to be slowing their record-breaking growth pace in July at +5% year-on-year to 24.854 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up 19% on 2014 to 179.437 units. Toyota tightens its stranglehold over the market even further, monopolising the Top 5 ranks: the Vios continues to fly over the competition with a record 3.102 sales and 12.5% share, distancing the Innova (6%) and Hiace (5.7%) while the Fortuner is awaiting the arrival of the new generation at #4 vs. #2 year-to-date and the Wigo brilliantly breaks into the Filipino Top 5 thanks to 1.200 sales. The best-selling non-Toyota remains the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, down to #6 this month vs. #5 year-to-date and #4 in 2014. However its advantage over the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 has thawed to just 85 units, with the Isuzu MU-X also very strong in 8th place and 4.1% share. The Toyota Avanza is back up to #10 and the Nissan Navara up to #16.
