Final figures push the Peugeot 308 past the 208 to #10 in Europe in July.

After temporary Top 10 figures, as is the tradition on BSCB we can now share with you complete brand and models data for Europe. As a reminder the European new car market is up a dynamic 9% year-on-year in July to 1.178.162 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 8.558.958 units, also up 9% on 2014. In the brands ranking, Peugeot (+10%), Mercedes (+12%) and Fiat (+15%) are the best performers in the Top 10. Outside (in ranking order), notice Mazda up 34%, Mitsubishi up 19%, Smart up 92%, Jeep up 146%, Porsche up 34%, Jaguar up 82%, Ssangyong up 120% and Tesla up 266% to 1.090 sales.
The 2 Series is BMW’s best-seller in Europe this month.
Model-wise, there are two significant changes in the Top 10 now that final data is in: thanks to 17.554 sales, the Audi A3 jumps to #9 while the Peugeot 308 edges past the 208 to land inside the Top 10 at 17.524 units vs. 17.519. The Opel Corsa, #9 in the original ranking, is kicked down to #12 at 17.452 registrations. The Skoda Fabia continues to climb up the European ladder: up 58% year-on-year this month to #14, the Mercedes C-Class does even better at +64% to #15 and the Opel Mokka is up 44% to #21. Spectacular progression of the BMW 2 Series, boosted by the Active Tourer variant and a stunning performance at home in Germany: up 554% on July 2014 and 10 spots on last month to a record 27th position, also becoming BMW’s best-seller across the continent.
The XE already accounts for 60% of Jaguar sales in Europe.
Among recent launches, the Fiat 500X is up 3 ranks on July to #57, the Jeep Renegade up two to #85, the Renault Kadjar down 4 to #92, the Nissan Pulsar up 20 to #100, the Opel Karl/Vauxhall Viva up 9 to #118, the Jaguar XE up 25 to #133 and 2.514 units (or 60% of Jaguar European sales), the Mazda CX-3 is up 11 to #135 and the Hyundai Tucson is up 115 spots to #154. Finally, we welcome the Mercedes GLE in the European sales charts this month at #212 and 556 deliveries (the M-Class it replaces is at #165 and -28%).
