The Bulgarian new car market stabilises in February at -2% year-on-year to an estimated 1,892 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 3,795 deliveries, up 4% on 2014. First the usual caveat to Bulgarian data which are significantly skewed by re-exports to other European Union countries. A large portion of new deliveries never makes it to local roads – as much as 30% – thanks to Bulgaria displaying some of the lowest car prices in the EU. See here for more on this phenomenon. Dacia resumes its domination with 273 sales and 14.4% share this month, lifting the brand up to #1 year-to-date also at 10.9%. The French-Romanian brand places 3 models in the Top 4 this month: leader in 2013 and 2014, the Dokker is back to pole position in February with 4.6% share, the Duster ranks #3 with 4% and the Sandero is #4 at 3.3%. Skoda monopolises the remaining two spots in the Top 5 with the Octavia at #2 (but #1 year-to-date) and the Rapid at #5.
