New car sales in Egypt are up a flamboyant 66% on October last year which was troubled by the political situation at the time, to 26,116 registrations and bringing the year-to-date total to 236.660 units, up 50% on 2013. The Top 4 best-selling models are identical to the YTD ranking: the Hyundai Verna is on top with 9.4% share, ahead of the Chevrolet TFR (aka Isuzu D-Max) at 7.3%, the Nissan new Sunny at 5.3% and Geely Emgrand 7 at 5.2%.
The Hyundai ix35 breaks into the Egyptian Top 5 for the very first time at #5 with 946 sales, the Hyundai Elantra is up to #7, the Renault Logan is strong again at #8 while the Kia Sportage breaks into the Top 10 at #9. Most September newcomers improves their score this month: the Hyundai Grand i10 is up 20 spots to #32, the BAIC MZ40 is up 21 to #58 and the Brilliance S30 up 19 to #61. Finally we welcome the Renault Captur in the Egyptian sales charts in October at #128 with 3 units sold.
