The Suzuki Swift is up to 2nd place this month in Hungary.

After gaining 32% in September 2013, sales of new passenger cars are up a further 18% year-on-year in Hungary in September to 5.527 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 49,453 units, up 20% on 2013. Sales of Light Commercial Vehicles for their part are up an even more impressive 39% to 1,275 units. Ford overtakes Opel to become the most popular brand in the country this month at 14.4% share vs. 13.6% however if last month the Ford Focus was the best-selling nameplate in Hungary, in September the Skoda Octavia reclaims the top spot it also holds year-to-date thanks to 297 sales and 5.4%. The Suzuki Swift impresses: up 6 spots on August to land at an excellent 2nd position with 247 units and 4.5%, a ranking it had not held since February. The Ford Focus is down to #3, the Mondeo up to #5 and the Kuga makes its first appearance in the Hungarian Top 10 at #8 with 150 sales and 2.7%. Finally, notice the Opel Mokka pointing its bonnet in 10th place with 2.6% of the market.
