The Icelandic new car market is up a very healthy 17% year-on-year in March to 626 registrations. While Toyota remains the most popular brand at 61 sales and 9.7%, Chevrolet pops up to 2nd place this month thanks to 56 units sold for a 8.9% share, ex-aequo with Skoda which is back up 8 spots on February. With the brand leaving the European continent for good next year, the Chevrolet performance could be the result of some aggressive pricing to get rid of stock, as much as we can talk about ‘stock’ for such a tiny market as Iceland. These moves kick Volkswagen, Kia and Ford down one rank to #4, #5 and #6 respectively. Mazda is up 3 spots to #9, Peugeot up 9 to #10 and Suzuki up 7 to #11.
