For the first time on BSCB I can share with you an All-models ranking for Finland! Thanks Alex for the tip.
New car sales in Finland are up 15% year-on-year in June to 8,665 registrations, still biased by the tax change from one year ago which made the June 2012 market a little more depressed than usual. Year-to-date, the Finnish car market is down 15% to 55,846 units. For the first time since December 2011, the Skoda Octavia manages to take the lead of the models ranking thanks to the new generation of the model now in full swing with 456 sales and 5.3%. That’s more than one percentage point better than the 2013 year-to-date leader the VW Golf, #2 this month at 362 units and 4.2%.
The Nissan Qashqai rounds up the podium with 275 sales and 3.2% while the BMW 3 Series continues on its fantastic run, up two further spots to #4 at 255 units and 2.9%. It is now #9 year-to-date vs. #30 in 2012! Other great performers this month in Finland include the Hyundai i20 up 16 ranks on last month to #10, the VW Polo up 8 to #11, Opel Astra up 7 to #13, Mercedes A-Class up 7 to #18 and the Hyundai i30 up to #19.
