Thanks to Misa and Central European market data specialists I can share with you a Top 10 models ranking for Serbia for the first time since 2007! Very rare data indeed. As we explored in the original Serbia 2012 article, the Serbian new car market struggles this year, losing 26% on 2011 to 23,510 registrations, its lowest annual tally in the last 10 years and less than half the 2007 record of 56,231 units… As expected, the Fiat Punto Classic leads the way but with sales down a horrendous 54% on 2011 to 2,036 units and 8.7% share (vs. 14% in 2011), it is now threatened by the Skoda Fabia, up 14% and one spot to #2 at 1,510 units and 6.4%.
Skoda confirms it is now the favourite brand in Serbia by placing a second model on the podium: the Skoda Octavia, in spite of sales down 13%, is up one rank to #3 with 1,047 units and 4.5%. The Dacia Sandero follows but halves its sales figure compared to 2011, the Ford Fiesta is up 3 spots and 17% to #5, the Opel Astra remains in 6th position and the VW Golf is up a whopping 47% to #7 with 705 sales and 3% share.
